Dress Code

Day two of being completely snowed in! I wonder what kind of outfits are awaiting my purchase while I'm stuck in Brooklyn for a few days. For now, I found an amazing fur coat in my sister's closet to obsess over. No one really knows how it came into her possession, but I have every intention of making it mine ;)

Purple Rain...oh wait, SNOW

I lasted a whopping eight minutes outside, the same amount of time as the length of the purple rain song by Prince. FREEZING! But enough with the forecast (which has been blasting on repeat on every news station ALL day). The photos are pretty telling as to how really cold it was; a little snow and freezing wind never killed anyone, right? At least not anyone I know ;)

Happy Monday everyone!

Its Friday!

Something about Fridays just puts me at ease. Maybe its the end of a busy week or the beginning of an exciting weekend, I'm ready for both!

Happy holidays everyone :)

Beet Red

These pants have something serious against my ribcage, which takes one for the team for today's outfit. I love the high waist, super retro appeal of this style and its comeback is long overdue, if you ask me. ModCloth carries a great selection of high waisted trousers for anyone willing to try this look out, and these pants are a great start.

Roaring 20s

The silk beading on this dress is totally reminiscent of 1920s flapper dresses and would go oh so perfectly with a quellazaire, if I had one. The twenties is probably my most favorite fashion era, although I'm slightly misrepresenting its style. The skirts of the twenties hadn't really revealed the knee much to the extent that I chose, but I hope my lady Coco Chanel would approve of my take on the dipping hemline. And of course, whats an outfit in any era without some fur!
