Be Bold

This outfit is such a throwback to the 90s, right about the last time I wore was forced to wear a white blouse to private school. If only my principal could see me now. Although my uniform days are over, the white blouse look is here to stay. And don't be surprised if I wear it again and again. Like tomorrow.

Street style

A vintage pair of jeans is not only a must have, but a must wear. The high wasted green denim makes for a polished look, paired with a more contemporary top from CALYPSO St. Barth. I don't wear pants too often, but this pair is making me want to reinvent my wardrobe and inject some trousers into my fashion repertoire. Something to look forward to in the fall!

~Hope you guys are enjoying the long weekend~

Quiet please

I have to admit, the last place I’d probably be found at on my time off is the library, and yet there I was. And it was amazing. There’s always that one encounter that has the potential to reshape your views, and for me it was the Brooklyn Central Library.
Designed to resemble an open book, the expansive library space is both inviting and mysterious. I could see myself spending hours upon hours roaming the isles and getting lost in them, and in my own thoughts. It’s kind of like shopping, except you won’t leave with any physical possessions, which isn’t all that bad. Sometimes bibliotherapy beats retail therapy.

Leather goods

Lately I've been trying out some new things and this week's flavor was Bikram Yoga. After mastering the 26 postures in a room heated to 105 degrees (and I use "mastering" very loosely), I felt that my mind and body were in total harmony, and I finally found my center. Funny thing, 'cause it's been missing for a while...

Since it's nearly impossible to reward your mind, I decided to reward my body for committing to and carrying out this very small, yet significant goal that I've set. Soooo, behold, this red vintage coat is my reward! It's not too often that I find a piece that fits just right, but this one made me feel like Cinderella. What a great way to relax your mind, rejuvenate your body, and replenish your personal vintage inventory! Try it sometime, Bikram's orders!

Dress Code

Day two of being completely snowed in! I wonder what kind of outfits are awaiting my purchase while I'm stuck in Brooklyn for a few days. For now, I found an amazing fur coat in my sister's closet to obsess over. No one really knows how it came into her possession, but I have every intention of making it mine ;)

Shoes: Steve Madden

Update: my watch has been fixed, at last!

Happy in her own little world

Did I mention how much I love fur? It's so difficult to find a nice vintage coat that's size small. I had to go through buying several sizes for everyone I know until I finally came across this one for myself! Fur has traditionally been a symbol of royalty and wealth, as well as status. It's kind of ironic that vintage furs are so cheap, which happens to work out pretty well for me! Makes me wonder what kind of 40s socialite has been adorned by this very coat that I'm wearing today. Hmmmm....
